Northwestern Christian University is recognised as a degree granting Institution focused on non secular, religious studies.

Northwestern Christian University is recognized as educationally accountable by the International Association for Christian Educational Accountability (IACEA).

Due to the principle of separation of Church and State (Mark 12:17; James 4:4; II Corinthians 6:14), the IACEA is not aligned with regional accreditation or the USDOE, EAES, COPA, or any other non-Biblical secular accrediting organization. Are degrees awarded by Northwestern Christian University recognized?

Degrees are recognized as religious-related degrees. NCU graduates may be legally entitled to earn religion or ministry-focused Christian education degrees and to reflect such in their resume in many states and countries worldwide.

Recognition by outside institutions is always their choice and not determined by NCU.

What is meant by Love Offer/Donation in lieu of tuition?

All NCU degree programs are offered through a special missionary support program in exchange for a suggested minimal donation at graduation.

Enrollment is FREE!! The applicant agrees to pay a minimum suggested donation amount upon completion of their program.

Am I required to attend any on-campus classes?

No. All ONLINE courses are Distance Learning Courses. There is no need to attend classes at a physical campus. Programs may be completed entirely online or at an internet café.

How long does it take to complete a degree program?

Completion depends on the student’s dedication. However, Accelerated Research Based, degree awards are based on PLA and/or Thesis/Dissertation only and can be completed in as little as 90-days. Full Curriculum degrees at NCU require Core Course and can take 6-months to 1-year to complete.

Will Northwestern Christian University accept credits earned by non-accredited schools or programs?

In most cases, with documentation, NCU allows non-accredited credits if part of a completed degree program. Transcripts, certificates, and school details are required.

A high school diploma is normally required for bachelor programs. All students must have basic computer skills and English proficiency.

Can I earn a degree with Northwestern Christian University by just using life experience?

No. Life experience may only count for part of the credits through a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).

Accelerated Bachelor programs require a PLA / Prior Learning Assessment plus a thesis. Master’s and doctoral programs require a thesis or dissertation, though PLA may provide additional credit. *Full Curriculm degrees at NCU require a Core Curriculum as well as a thesis or dissertation.

What is the University’s denominational standing?

NCU is non-denominational and Bible-centered. Students from all denominations are welcome. Graduates have been ordained by denominations such as Church of God, Assemblies of God, and Baptist Churches.

What is the University’s doctrinal position?

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God.
  • We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Graded on a standard A–F scale. Revisions may be resubmitted for a higher grade.

Where do I obtain my textbooks?

NCU students do not need to purchase textbooks. Programs are research-based. Students may use:

When do I receive my degree?

Degrees are issued within 24 hours of completing requirements and payment of the donation.

Can I obtain an ordination or license?

  • Ordination: Only for ministers operating under our WCJC Church charters.
  • Licenses: Not provided by NCU. Students must research licensing based on local laws.

Can I use my enrollment to defer payment of student loans?

No. NCU is not regionally accredited and does not have an OPE-ID number.

Can I use Financial Aid (FAFSA, grants, scholarships, loans)?

No. FAFSA applies only to regionally accredited schools.

Does the U.S. Armed Forces recognize NCU degrees for Chaplaincy?

No. The U.S. Armed Forces require chaplains to have regionally accredited degrees.

Are Love Offer/Donations tax deductible?

No. Donations made as tuition substitution are not tax deductible per IRS regulations.

However, freewill donations to support worldwide ministries are tax deductible.
